ANLSAMP Funding Opportunities

SUBCONTRACTS

Each year ANLSAMP provides opportunities for our partners to apply for funds that support the goals of the program. The following are types of partnerships that can be funded:

1.  Tribal Colleges who want to develop an associate degree in STEM fields;
a. Who want to develop bachelor of science degrees in STEM fields and;
b. Who want to develop regional STEM educational networks will be funded;

2. Tribal Colleges can also submit more than one proposal under the following conditions:
a. The second proposal is from a different department than the first and;
b. The second proposal addresses a different activity than the first.

Proposals are accepted from University partners who want to collaborate with a Tribal College partner. The Tribal College will act as the "pass-through" agency on behalf of the University.

It will be our priority to see that all applying institutions receive at least one grant that is ranked by the proposal readers as fundable.   Then, all additional proposals will be considered until the available funding is expended.   If your institution is applying for more than one activity, please rank the proposals in order of importance.

Funding TCU's to build their own A.S. and B.S. programs in STEM disciplines strategically focuses limited resources where they will have the greatest impact.   This will dramatically increase the success of Native American students involved in STEM degree granting programs while assisting NSF in meeting the goals of the Executive Order and will encourage the institutionalization of program activities by assisting TCU's to build self-sustaining degree programs.   Funding TCU's to build regional four-year accredited STEM degree-granting programs with an at-distance component will also strategically focus limited resources where they will have the greatest impact.   Furthermore, it will increase the numbers of students the tribal colleges can serve by expanding the network to include those reservations who have no tribal college and will poise the tribal colleges to build a national network of STEM educational delivery tailored to meet the needs of tribal nations.
