Re: NASA Johnson Space Center Surplus Donation Project
The All Nations Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (ANLSAMP) is facilitating the donation of NASA-Johnson Space Center (JSC) surplus educational/research equipment. This program was initiated in 2004, under the provisions of the Stevenson-Wydler Innovation Technology Act of 1980 and Presidential Executive Order 12999. Under these provisions, federal agencies may donate surplus items directly to educational institutions specifically for educational purposes (not for administrative purposes). NASA-JSC gives Tribal Colleges precedence in receiving NASA-JSC surplus equipment.
Last year NASA donated from a limited number of Federal Supply Groups (FSGs), this year NASA-JSC has increased the number of FSGs from which they may donate items, this equates to a larger selection of items available. Individual colleges are responsible for shipping and handling costs of the donated items from the JSC Warehouse in Houston, TX. Attached are all the necessary forms with which to complete your request to NASA-JSC. I am the coordinator of this program for ANLSAMP contact me with any questions.
