Each year ANLSAMP sends out a request for proposals to all of our partner         institutions. Every effort is made to fund the proposed activities that further the ANLSAMP goal of promoting Native American Achievement at all levels of STEM. These activities often include curriculum development, bridging, mentoring, and research programs. The knowledge gained and lessons learned from these efforts are disseminated throughout the partnerships.

We provide educational and professional development opportunities to students by encouraging undergraduate research at professional conferences and by supporting conference activities. ANLSAMP sponsors the scientific poster and oral presentation sessions, as well as the "Science Bowl Competition " at the American Indian Higher Education Consortium Annual Conference. ANLSAMP also provides support funds for AISES chapters at out partner institutions. ANLSAMP has been managing these student-focused activities since 1996. Participation in these activities promotes educational inquiry in the STEM fields.

Enrollment and graduation data are gathered from each partner institution and submitted to the National Science Foundation. This database is used to provide information for the assessment and developement of AMP strategies. ANLSAMP has the most comprehensive data on tribal colleges with regard to STEM fields of study.
